There is so much to do at this time of year but never enough time, so I find myself dashing outside in my lunch breaks when I’m working at home to spend an hour gardening just to keep up. It’s a win-win. I need a break from sitting at my computer and just having an hour concentrates the mind. Occasionally I get carried away and realise I’ve been out there for several hours, but usually I’m fairly disciplined and it’s amazing what you can get done in short concentrated bursts. Sometimes it’s better for me to garden in this way - non-stop hours of barreling and shovelling compost or weeding beds can play havoc with your back.
