Last week I described how I was scrimping and saving plants for a new border without spending any money. This week I’ll show you my plan for this border so you can see how I intend to put these plants together in some sort of coherent design. I’ll be using all the principles I talked about earlier this year in posts about structure, colour and shape, and am being true to my pledge that I will only use plants that I already have.
The new border is 7.5m x 1m, and curved as it goes round the corner to meet an existing border. It lies at the back of the house, which is east-facing, and it gets the sun all morning until the early afternoon. There’s an existing, already quite large Euphorbia x pasteuri which had planted in grass at one end, which seems to be doing well there.
